Easter 2013

This Easter weekend we opted to stay home and have our family come to us.  We typically go to Paris for Easter weekend but it was nice to not have to travel.  On Saturday afternoon, we hosted my family and Jeff's dad for a yummy dinner.  My parents and sister spent the night on Saturday night and all went to church with us on Sunday.  The kids woke up early to find that the Easter Bunny had left them a few goodies.

Brody was more interested in what was in each egg rather than his new pajamas.

I should have put them in cuter pajamas the night before but I forgot...

I told them no candy before breakfast and then I found them over in the corner trying to eat their Reese's pieces candy through the wrapper.

After church we snapped a few pictures outside.

Brody loved his new Easter basket that Papa (the Easter Bunny) brought him.

Brody's favorite was the new riding toy from Papa & Mimi

The kids each had kites in their Easter baskets.  Thankfully it was a beautiful day on Sunday so we headed out after naps to fly our kites.

We had a great weekend celebrating with Family.

Easter Playdate

On Friday, the kids didn't have preschool so we were able to go over to our friend Brooke's house for a little Easter play date.
Harper, Brody, Olivia Kate, Preston, Becca, & Haley

We managed to dye a few Easter Eggs out on the back porch.

The kids stayed inside for a few minutes while I went out and head all of the plastic eggs.

Each time Brody would pick up an egg he would open it and then show me what was in it before he moved on to the next one.

Olivia Kate & Harper - just a few weeks apart in age.

We then headed to the pond in Brooke's neighborhood to feed the ducks and have a picnic lunch.

What a difference a year makes - last year's playdate

Tiny Texan, More Baseball, and a new Ride

The kids had Tiny Texan Day at preschool yesterday.  They were so excited about wearing their cowboy hats and boots. At school they got to ride a horse and a pony.  Brody couldn't stop talking about Oreo the pony.

My mom came over yesterday and picked the kids up from school for me.  I was able to get out and run a few errands by myself.  Last night we headed out to the baseball field for another cold night of watching daddy's team.  We lost to across town rival Flower Mound but the kids still had fun.

I love to see how animated Jeff is while coaching.  Here he is at Third base waving in another runner.

Today, I had to say goodbye to my trusty Volvo.  I've had it for 5 years and loved it. But three car seats won't fit easily across the back seat so we had to trade it in for something more practical.

I swore I would never drive a mini van but here I am.  I think my mom drove every make and model of mini van in the 80's and 90's. I had a negative perspective on them.  But I have to say I'm secretly excited about the sliding doors, DVD player and more room for everyone.

GAFIA 2013

Last weekend I managed to slip away from mommy duties for THREE whole nights.  My Baylor girls got together for our annual GAFIA weekend.  (Getting. Away. From. It. All) We went to Natalie's parents lake house out in East Texas again.  I so look forward to this weekend each year where we can reconnect and build our friendships even more.  We enjoyed time in the kitchen cooking together, long walks through the country, laughing around the dinner table, playing games and even a little lounging around the pool.  Yes we had 80 degree temps in March - got to love Texas! I love these girls dearly and always come away so refreshed after time with them.

This year Baby Colin got to come because he is only 2 months old and still relies on Elisa for his food. It was a good reminder as to what my life will be like again in a few short months.  I forgot how much they sleep.

Natalie and I are due just two days apart in June.

Emily & Elisa

Emily lives in Nashville so I definitely don't see her as much as I'd like throughout the year.

Sweet baby Colin

Thanks to Papa and Mimi for entertaining the kids in Paris while Jeff was busy with baseball.
