NYC - Part 3

Two mornings we woke up and went to run through Central Park.  The beautiful weather and awesome scenery made for great running.  All of the trees in the park were changing colors. 

We went back to Central Park one afternoon and had a nice picnic lunch.

Tuesday evening we went to a Broadway show.  We went on Tuesday morning to stand in line for half price tickets.  We ended up with 3rd row seats at Mary Poppins.  The show was fabulous and Jeff even liked it!

Wednesday morning we went back to the NBC studios and got a little better view for the filming of the Today Show. Bon Jovi was performing so the crowds were crazy.  We got there at 5:30 a.m. and there were already hundreds of people there.  People had been camping out since midnight the night before. We at least got a good view of Matt and Meredith at the news desk.

We left NYC on Wednesday afternoon.  All week we watched them preparing for the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. They set up bleachers all along the parade route through downtown Manhattan.  Our hotel was right around the corner from Macy's.  Wednesday afternoon before we left we went to Central Park where they were inflating all of the huge balloons.  It was pretty cool to see them in person - they are huge!

Overall we had a fantastic trip.  Now it's back to reality - changing diapers, cleaning up messes, and chasing around a 15 month old =)

NYC - Part 2

Jeff and I had a great time in NYC!  We are so thankful that we were able to get away for a few days. Monday morning we set our alarm clock to get up really early and go to Rockefeller Center where they film the Today show. We overslept so we were not able to see very well.  We went back on Wednesday morning and actually got a good view.  

Our friend Kaytie gave us some great suggestions for restaurants.  We ate at John's Pizzeria which is the world's largest pizza place.  It's in an old church and has a great atmosphere.

After dinner we walked up 5th Avenue to look at all of the fancy stores including Dylan's Candy Bar.

NYC - Part 1

Jeff and I left last Saturday for a last minute get away to New York City.  My parents & sisters graciously kept Harper while we went on vacation.  It was a real treat to be able to actually sleep in and not be tied to Harper's schedule for a few days. We enjoyed seeing the sights, watching a Broadway show, eating a lot and sleeping in.

I have family that live on Long Island and they came into the city to meet us on Saturday when we arrived.  . They rode the train in and then met us at our hotel.  We started at the Empire State building because it was just around the corner from our hotel.

Macy's and most of the other stores were already decorated for Christmas which was really pretty.

Team In Training has a huge billboard in Times Square that was just donated from one of our corporate partners. It was pretty cool to see our ad up on the side of the building in the middle of NYC!

Uncle George showed us the real New York.  Our evening was filled with a very interesting dinner in Chinatown, yummy canoli's for dessert in Little Italy, a comedy show on the Upper West Side and then live jazz at BB King's in Times Square.

They gave us a crash course on getting around NYC on the subway.

Sunday we took a tour of the new Yankee stadium.

Dinner with the Diamonds

I'm trying out the new updated editor in Blogger.  Pretty excited about the way that you can upload pictures now. Tuesday night the Diamond's came over for dinner.  We had a great time visiting while the girls enjoyed playing with each other.

Heather brought Blue Bell ice cream and brownies for dessert.  Harper even got a taste of the ice cream.

Stylin'

Harper is so blessed to receive some very cute hand-me-downs from her friend Abigail. It was a little chilly yesterday morning so we pulled out this Black velour jumpsuit. It was a little big - but oh so cute!Harper thought the hood was pretty cool. What outfit wouldn't be complete with out a big black bow in the back!Don't forget the leopard print shoes! My little girl is growing up!

Wedding planning

My sister in law, Rhonda is getting married next August. She will finish up nursing school in the Spring at Texas Tech. We are so proud of her determination and we know that she is going to make a fabulous nurse some day very soon! She came into town this weekend to do a little wedding planning. Her list included find her a dress, confirm reception site, church, find bridesmaid dresses, etc. She completed all of those things with time to spare because she is an efficient decision maker! I met up with two of her bridesmaids and Patty at Alfred Angelo in Frisco to look at Bridesmaid dresses. Trying to pick the right color for the dress.Harper will be the flower girl at the wedding. She will almost be two years old so it will definitely be interesting. Aunt Rhonda has already started giving Harper some tips on walking down the aisle.

We decided to try on one of the flower girl dresses just to see what it looked like. We are not going to buy anything yet because the wedding is not for another 9 months and I have no idea what size she will be then.

We had a great weekend with all of our visitors!
