Fun Family Day

After church on Sunday I wanted to get a few pics of the kids.  Brody was so tired and ready for a nap.

After nap time we carved another pumpkin.

Granddad Sherman came over for the afternoon and we headed to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather. 

After a yummy family dinner at Rosa's, Bill kept the kids while Jeff and I actually went on a date to see Moneyball. Weekends are too short!

Pumpkin Party

We are now attending a new church closer to home and have gotten involved in a new Bible Fellowship class.  We attended Prestonwood in Plano for 6 years and loved it!  That is where we met some of our best friends, it's where our children were both dedicated to the Lord and it was were we "did life" with other young families.  It's a 25-35 minute drive each way and we were making the trip Sundays and Wednesdays. As the kids get older, I wanted them to be able to get involved in things that I grew up doing at church like choir, Bible Drill, G.A.'s, etc.  We felt that we could not really get involved in more activities at Prestonwood due to the drive.  We wanted to find a church home closer to home.  The kids attend Cottonwood Creek's Kids Day Out program so we were already familiar with the church.  We started attending back in August and have enjoyed the preaching, worship and Bible fellowship class.  We had a pumpkin party with our class last night.

Harper put her pumpkin out on the front porch last night when we got home.  Several times today she wanted to go outside and check on it. 

Pierce's Pajama Pirate Party

This morning Harper and I headed over to Pierce's house to help celebrate his 3rd birthday.  The little pirates were asked to come in their pajamas.

After decorating their treasure bags, they set out on a treasure hunt. 
Digging for treasure - she found several necklaces, a ring pop and some gold coins.

Brody's First Haircut

I took Brody to get his first hair cut last week. Harper needed one as well so Wednesday afternoon we headed to the Groovy Kids Cuts in McKinney. Harper was really excited about going to the "salon" where she remembered that they painted her nails last time. Unfortunately, we got there and they were closed due to a busted pipe. Harper then proceeded to have a meltdown in the parking lot because she didn't understand why they were closed and she couldn't get her hair cut. I decided that we would just come back another day but on our way home we passed a Supercuts. I ran in there and gave it a try. I have several observations from this visit.
1. When asked if they cut toddler's hair - she said "Yes we try often." ("Try" - should have been my first clue)
2. No fun chairs for the kids to sit in like the kids salon
3. No tv to keep them entertained (still) during the cut.

I held Brody on my lap and he was a wiggle worm. Everytime she would make a little snip he would whip around his head looking for the noise. She kept saying - "Can you keep him still?" Sure lady - let me get right on that with my one year old. The hair is uneven all over but oh well - it'll grow back.

Such a big boy now.  Next time we will go back to the kids salon.

The Great Pumpkin Hunt

Last week at the kids school they had their Great Pumpkin Hunt. I was not able to attend the event because I had to go in to my office that day. They each got to bring home a pumpkin that they "picked out themselves".

Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

 Last Saturday we headed up to the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch in Celina. Harper loved it.  She wasn't so sure of feeding the animals at first but with a little prodding from daddy she enjoyed it.

This was a serious hay ride complete with farmer, John Deer Tractor and 3 trailers of hay and people.

I can't say that I didn't try because I took a ton of pics but I failed at my mission.
Oh well - the pics are cute anyway.
