Marcus Homecoming Carnival

Wednesday evening the kids and I packed up and headed over to Flower Mound for the Homecoming Festival at Marcus.  Jeff and the baseball team were manning a booth so we hung out there for a while and then enjoyed a few other fun games and inflatables that they had.

After the carnival was over, we walked over to the stadium for the big Pep Rally.  This was our first event to attend at Marcus and we had a great time.  We are anxious to get moved over there so we are closer and can do more things like this with daddy.  Grandad joined in on the fun also.

I need to get the kids some Marcus gear ASAP.

Cookout for Johann

Johann lives in Germany and he is dating my sister, Rebekah.  He came to the states for a few weeks.  They took a 2 week road trip to the East Coast and we were able to spend some time with them back in Dallas before he left to go home.  We enjoyed a family dinner over at my grandparents home in Dallas.  Johann was pretty excited when Grandaddy let him drive his Camaro.

Johann requested a traditional American backyard cookout complete with burgers, potato salad, watermelon, and pecan pie.

"No you guys can't have the desserts all to yourselves."

Down On The Farm

The kids went to Paris last weekend for a little visit with Papa & Mimi.  I had some house stuff to take care of so I enjoyed the peace and quiet for a few days.  The kids love spending time outside roaming around the land. One of their favorite things to do is go over to my parent's neighbors who have goats and chickens.  These are a few pictures that Margie took with her phone.

Harper collected a dozen eggs from the chicken coop and we have been cooking with them this week.

Dinner at the Fountains

Tonight I met Ashley and her kids over at the Village Fountains. The kids enjoyed running around the water fountains and then we ate a yummy dinner at Purple Cow. It's still 95 degrees in September so the kids enjoyed cooling off in the water.

Sweet friends!

First Day of School 2012

Thursday, September 6th - could not have come soon enough. It's been a long summer with the house on the market and Jeff transitioning to a new job.  This mommy was ready to get back into the routine of school.  The kids were excited to go back as well.  Thanks to my friend Ashley for the cute chalk boards.

They are both attending Cottonwood Creek again. Harper attends Preschool 3 days per week.  She has several friends from her class last year in this year's class.  When we move next month, I'm hoping to find a great preschool in Flower Mound that has openings for her.  Right now, I'm on 6 different waiting lists.

Brody attends Mother's Day Out on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  Today was the first Monday that I just had him at home.  He kept walking around saying "Harper? Harper?"  I would say "Harper's at school" and he would then say "Oh -Harper School." then go back to his puzzles or blocks.  He definitely missed his playmate.

Quick pic with all of our gear on the way in the door.  It's a long walk from the parking lot to their classroom so the stroller is easier.  Plus it serves as the carrier for the nap mat, lunch boxes and back packs.

Harper went right in and never looked back.

Harper Joy is FOUR

I have a four year old?!  What?! 4 sounds so much older than 3.  Harper is such a joy to our family. She is smart, energetic, funny, inquisitive and a great big sister.
Harper enjoys playing pretend, working puzzles, doing arts & crafts, swimming at the neighborhood pool, riding her bike around the block, running, laughing, and playing with Brody.  Her favorite foods are PB&J, fruit, pizza, yogurt, fruit smoothies, string cheese, and has a sweet tooth like her mommy.
She loves reading.  Some of her favorites are Fancy Nancy, Berenstain Bears and her Bible story books. Her favorite shows are Mickey Mouse & Curious George. She definitely knows her way around the ipad and enjoys playing many games on there. Harper loves school and was so excited to start preschool last week.  She attends 3 days a week and comes home talking about all of the fun things that she did each day.

Harper is very inquisitive.  She is constantly asking questions trying to figure out the "why" behind everything.  I love watching her process new situations. She has a fantastic memory and will remember things from months ago.
Harper is full of life, energy and happiness.  We definitely have our "moments" throughout the day but overall she is a joy. We had her 4 year Doctor appointment last week and she is 39.8 lbs (82%) and 42.13 in. tall (91%).  She has always been at the top on the growth chart.  She has long legs like her mommy so maybe she will be a runner.

What a blessing these past 4 years have been. We love you Harper Joy.

Birthday Donuts at the Park

On Harper's actual birthday we met our friends Reese & Collin at the park for a yummy breakfast of donuts.  The kids enjoyed playing until it got a little too hot.

Collin & Brody are just a few months apart.

We will miss fun morning like this at the park with friends once we move.
