Happy 4th of July!

Last night we headed out to the July 4th celebration at the stadium in Paris. The festivities kicked off with four parachutists landing on the football field right in front of us.

They had a dance floor set up on the middle of the football field.  Harper made some new friends and had fun dancing

Parade in Paris

We headed to Paris on Saturday morning to celebrate the 4th of July with my family. The festivities kicked off with a parade. I have fond memories of watching this parade every year growing up. It's fun to take my kids back now.  We met up with my friend Amanda and her little girl, Noel.

Aunt Beka & Brody

I love the creativity of some of the entrants every year.

I think you might call this a "limo truck".

Harper's favorite part was picking up all of the candy that was thrown

and my personal favorite entrant in the parade....

two sweaty little girls - they loved the parade!

Safari Park

We checked out this new Indoor Safari Park yesterday.  Harper practically had the whole place to herself.  She played hard for 2 hours - sliding into the ball pit, running, jumping on the trampoline, riding the train, and playing putt putt.

Riding the mechanical zebra.  She thought this was really fun!

They had several miniature train sets that kept her entertained for a while.  I don't think that she has every played with these before but I'm sure with a little brother around we will have one sooner or later.

Getting ready to ride the train

I think Brody wanted to ride also.

Sweet kisses

Once we got him sitting up straight in the ball pit he loved it.
I'm sure we will be back here soon!  Clean play area with air conditioner - can't beat that!

Swim Lessons

Harper has taken swim lessons the last two weeks. She has made a lot of progress from day one and is doing great. She looked forward to going each day. Her teacher recommended that we drop her off and leave her for at least the first week. Ms. Ginger said that at this age most of the time they do better without the parents there. The first few days they worked on just getting comfortable putting their head under the water and by the end of this week she was swimming across the pool. She's still trying to work on not swallowing the whole pool - but we are getting there!

Ready to go...

Pep talk from Ms. Ginger

Nice form!

Hawaiian Falls

Last night we went to Hawaiian Falls. Every Wednesday night throughout the summer Prestonwood rents it out and opens it up to church members. We got there about 5:30 p.m., packed a picnic, and had a blast.
Navigating the wave pool with daddy.

Harper loved all of the slides.

Brody has found his voice and he has this squeal / squawk that he does all the time!

Practicing her synchronized swim moves

My favorite part of the evening was the family floating of the lazy river. I don't have any pics but Brody sat on my lap in the tube! We hope to go back again this summer.
See what a difference a year makes - yes that is the same swim suit as last year.
