Sherman Family Christmas in Cleburne

I know it's 2011 already but I'm catching up on Christmas posts. We spent the 23rd and 24th out in Cleburne with Jeff's dad and his extended family.  Harper had fun playing with Austin's toys.
Playing with cars and trains was a new experience for her.

Reading bedtime stories with Granny

Austin and Harper had fun playing together

Presents - Round 1

Princess cell phone from Aunt Jean & Uncle Dan

Aunt Jean with the kiddos

We packed up on Christmas Eve and headed to Paris.  It was a long drive to say the least... We made it just in time for dinner with my family in Paris.

Harper's New Bike

Harper got a new bike for Christmas from her granddad Sherman. She has enjoyed riding it around the house and outside.
Safety First - Can't forget the helmet.

Natalie Wedding Weekend

Last weekend Natalie, one of my dearest friends, got married!  We met freshman year at Baylor and then were roommates, ran our first marathon together, and have spent countless hours laughing until it hurts! The weekend was jam packed with lots of fun activities.  We started off with a fun lingerie shower on Wednesday evening with all of the girls.
Emily flew in from Paris, France for the wedding.  Even though she was jet lagged, she managed to make some yummy banana pudding.
Sarah made these adorable cookies and we used them as party favors.
Brody did attend the shower but don't worry I covered his eyes when the gifts were opened.
Friday morning we had a wonderful bridesmaid luncheon with all of the ladies.  Here's Natalie with her two new sisters - Abby and Alex.

Brody made an appearance at the luncheon and had to sport his Baylor socks in honor of the occasion.
9106 Girls - We were all roomate at Baylor at some point and lived in the Village apartments.

After the luncheon we went to the church to do a little decorating and then back to the hotel to get ready for the rehearsal dinner. Jeff's 30th birthday was on Friday so he came to the rehearsal dinner so I could see him on his birthday.  Everything went great all weekend except that he had a wreck on the way to Ft. Worth for the dinner. He was ok but his truck was not.

After dinner we took Natalie to Wal Mart to do lots of funny things that I won't post on the blog.
Saturday morning we all headed to the salon for mani / pedis.

We had a dance party in the van on the way to the church complete with non alcoholic champagne.

Our crazy driver Mark!
It was a beautiful ceremony and reception.

Jeff is excited because we have added another guy to the group!

Brody was a trooper all weekend. Thanks to my mom for playing "nanny" all weekend in Ft. Worth. He slept through most of the big events including the wedding and the reception.

Merry Christmas With Love

Prestonwood held a fun event this year called "Merry Christmas with Love". We went after church on Sunday afternoon.  They had a huge tent set up with 8 different stations inside geared towards young kids.  The first station that Harper found was the cookie decorating.

She got to make a Christmas craft with Daddy's help and then waited in line to see Santa Claus. She has been talking about Santa for the last few weeks.  I wasn't sure if we would actually get her to sit on his lap this year because she is somewhat terrified of things in costume - CHS Titan mascot, Chick Fila Cow, etc. We waited in line for a little while and she just stared at him.

When it was our turn, Jeff stepped up onto the platform where Santa was sitting and Harper started screaming and wouldn't let go of Jeff.  I thought that I had a picture of her in the middle of this little melt down but I didn't get one. Here's the after - with big tears rolling down that sweet little face. I don't think we will try Santa pictures again this year.  Maybe next year.

Outside the tent, they had a live Nativity scene set up where we could take pics.  Harper kept talking about baby Jesus and the lambs.

She thought this sheep was pretty interesting.

And even tried to crawl into the Nativity scene to see the animals.

Thanks Prestonwood for putting on a fun little Christmas activity for our family.

Brody - 2 Months

We had Brody's two month check up today.  I was anxious to see how much he had grown since his last visit.  At 2 weeks he weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz and was in the 25%.  Today he weighed 13 lbs. 6 oz. and is now in the 90%! His length went from 50% to 90% as well.  He is definitely a growing boy!!
2 Month Stats:
Weight: 13 lbs. 6 oz. -  90%
Length: 24 1/4 inch - 90%
Head: 16 in. - 75%
Brody is such a good baby.  He is pretty content most times unless he is hungry, tired or has dirty diaper. He was waking up about every 4-5 hours at night to eat.  The last two nights he went over 10 hours between feedings! Last night was from 8 p.m. - 6 a.m.!! I felt like a new woman this morning after not having to get up 2 times during the night.  Harper never did this early on and still got up at least once a night to eat until she turned one!! So I will feel so blessed if Brody sticks to this great schedule! I'm not counting on it though.

We love living life with our little man.

Gingerbread House

Harper had fun making her first gingerbread house yesterday. Thanks to Becky for letting 5 toddlers mess up her dining room. Here's the calm before the storm.

Such concentration

I think she ate twice as much candy as she put on the house.

The finished projects.

Brody and Brynlee supervised the project
