Thank You Fabulous K!

Thanks to Fabulous K for our new blog makeover. Back in August, I won one of her "Fairy Blog Makeovers". I asked Kelly if I could delay the makeover until we had little Miss Harper here. She said absolutely! I love the finished product. Fabulous K is so creative!

I Love Mommy!

Well, I've survived two full days by myself with out Jeff or my mom here. Harper and I have had a great time hanging out during the day when she's not sleeping.

Our morning routine is feed her around 7am while Jeff is getting ready for work then he leaves and Harper and I go back to sleep until around 10am! I'm so excited that she likes to sleep late like her mommy!

I just melt when she looks at me with those big eyes! My mom is coming back over tomorrow and we are going to take Harper to her 2 week old Dr. appointment. I'm anxious to see how much she weighs because she is eating like a champ!

First Bath

Harper had her first bath this week. At first she didn't know what to think of the water, but she did get comfortable in it and seemed to like it.

My dad, Harper's Papa, had fun loving on Harper after her bath. Dad came back in town this weekend to help out. While he was here, he installed cabinets in our laundry room - and they look FABULOUS!! Thanks Dad!You can never have enough pictures of your little girl sleeping on her daddy's chest!!

Five Generations

Harper is now 10 days old. We are all having so much fun getting to know her. My mom stayed with us for the first 9 days and just left yesterday. It was so nice having an extra set of hands to help out while Jeff is busy with football. My mom was able to help out with some of the late night shifts between feedings. Thanks Mom!! She will be back later this week.


My family is blessed to have five generations still living. My Great Grandmother is 99 years young and lives with my parents in Paris. In the picture below, my mom and her dad, Karl Davenport, are standing in the back. Harper Joy, me, and my Great Grandmother Jane are sitting down. Jane Mitchell is Harper's Great Great Grandmother!

On Monday afternoon, we had our sweet friends Scott and Natalie Blanchard come by to visit. Scott was Jeff's roommate in college and the Best Man in our wedding. He and his wife, Natalie, live in Tulsa, OK. It was a real treat to see them because we haven't seen them in at least two years. Natalie is expecting their first baby girl in about 7 weeks. We can't wait for Baby Blanchard to meet Harper. Jeff's dad, Bill, has been able to come over several times to visit Harper Joy. He lives in Carrollton so it's not too far of a drive for him to come visit his first grandchild. Harper sure does love hanging out with her Daddy. Jeff has been so busy with football, but when he is home - he enjoys loving on her. He's a natural!Friday night we went to the park to get some fresh air. When Harper sleeps she likes to put both hands spread out above her head. Here's a funny picture of her in the stroller doing her "superman pose" as we like to call it.

Harper loves this Boppy bouncer. It bounces, vibrates, and has music. She has spent a lot of time in here already.

Sorry for the long post - but I just have so many cute pictures to show everyone. My mom and I were laughing this weekend because between our two cameras we had already taken close to 300 pictures in her first week of life. We went through and picked the pictures that we wanted to print and there were over 150 that we wanted to print. I think Harper has gotten use to the camera flash now.

One Week Old

Exactly one week ago today, we got to meet our sweet little Harper Joy for the first time. I can't believe that it's already been one week. The days and nights are flying by. Time flies when I'm feeding Harper then changing her then repeating! Haper is such a good baby. She rarely cries and usually it's just when she is hungry or needs her diaper changed.

My sister in Israel has requested frequent video postings becuase she won't get to see Harper until December. Carol - this one is for you =)

Busy weekend

We have now been home for 3 days. Harper is doing great. She is eating like a champ and sleeping pretty good - Jeff and I are already getting used to functioning on minimal sleep.

Our first few days at home have been filled with lots of guests visiting us. My mom has been here since Harper was born. She is planning on staying for at least a week or so to help out. Jeff is at the beginning of football season so his days are very long with practices and games.

When we were in the hospital we all had to wear ID bracelets that had electronic sensors in them.

My sister, Rebekah, came up from Austin this weekend. She just finished up her first week as a UT freshman. She had to study this weekend but found a way to multi task. Rebekah said that she would come up any time for a study break. My Dad was able to be here all weekend also. It's FABULOUS having a Pediatrician in the family - better yet staying in the next room over from your newborn baby =) Dad has loved getting to spend time with Harper.Here's my dad multi-tasking while eating dinner. I'm sure he refined this skill while raising his three daughters.
My Great Grandmother lives with my parents in Paris. She was able to be in town to see her new Great Great Granddaughter. On Monday we had 5 generations at my house.
Harper loves this Moses basket that my friends Emily and Natalie got her. It's so great because she will sleep in it and I can carry it from room to room in the house.

Harper Joy is Home

Harper Joy has turned our world upside down. We can't believe how quickly we have fallen in love with our little girl.




My parents and grandparents were at the hospital to keep us company while I was in labor. They couldn't wait to meet Harper.

Baylor Hospital in Frisco was Awesome! The nurses were wonderful and took such great care of us. One of their neat traditions is a "Going Home - Steak & Lobster Celebration Dinner."

Harper already has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

We got to go home from the hospital on Saturday evening. Harper didn't know what to think of her new car seat and ride home.
