First 5K

This week my Aunt Vicki flew in from New York to surprise us because she didn't want to miss out on meeting Brody.  Just this year Vicki took up running and wanted to do a race while she was here this week. So Saturday morning she and Jeff ran a 5K in Allen.  My dad was here so he came along to help me with the kids.

Aunt Vicki nearing the finish line

Jeff picked up Harper just before the finish line and carried her across it.  It was so cute because Harper kept her arms up the whole time!

Harper talked about the bounce house all morning but she wasn't so sure about going in by herself.  She enjoyed it once Papa got in with her!

First 48 Hours at Home

We came home from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon. Brody has done great at home. He really just sleeps and eats in back to back cycles.  We rarely hear him cry and is so far a very content baby.  Harper got to wear her Halloween costume to school on Thursday. She was planning on being a ladybug but we realized that she couldn't sit in her car seat or take a nap at school with the attached wings on the costume. So she wore the UT Cheerleader costume from her Papa! I need to get her some Baylor gear before Papa & Aunt Beka turn her into a Longhorn.

Papa brought this cute Tutu and hair bow for Harper.  Several of his nurses make fun things like this and sell at his office.

Another attempt from Papa to get his grandkids to be Longhorns.

Brody and Papa watching the Rangers clinch the AL Championship. They are headed to the World Series. Brody says "Go Rangers!"

"And he's SAFE!"

First Outing - 4 days old

Today we managed to make it out of the house twice. Brody had a Dr. appointment to check is weight post hospital discharge. He was born at 6 lbs. 14 oz and discharged at 6 lbs. 8 oz. He's eating well and has already gained a few more ounces and is up to 6 lbs. and 10.5 ounces.  After his Dr. appointment we headed home for a nap then ventured out for lunch at the Village at Allen. They have a cute little pumpkin patch where we took a few pics.

Mimi bribed Harper with Ice cream if she would sit still for the pics.  So we introduced my Aunt Vicki from New York to Yumilicious Frozen Yogurt.  They have Pumpkin as one of their seasonal flavors and it was so good!  I added pecans and graham crackers. Yummy.

Leaving as a Family of Four

Monday, October 18, 2010 we went to the hospital as a family of three and October 20th we left as a family of four.

Big sister trying to figure out why Brody is in "her seat". This is just the first of many things that will be passed down.

"Where's Harper?"
She wanted to ride also.

Brody - Day 2

We had lots of visitors stop by the hospital while we were there.

Brody with his Great Grandaddy!

Ashley and Graham stopped by to say hi.  Graham was very curious as to what his mommy was holding.

One of the perks about delivering at Baylor Frisco - celebration dinner of steak & lobster! Too bad I don't eat either one.  Don't worry they brought me yummy chicken and pasta.

24 Hours old

Natalie, my college roomie, stopped by to meet Brody.  I'm in Natalie's wedding in December.

How many wipes does it take Jeff to change Brody's first poppy diaper?? Answer: 7!

"Is he really ours Mom?"
