Cos, Babes, and old friends

This weekend one of Jeff's college roommates, Joshua Costello (Cos), came to visit us from Nashville. We had a great time catching up with him. He hasn't been to Texas since our wedding - almost 6 years ago. Jeff gets to see Cos once a year because they have a guys weekend away where all of his roommates get together. This was his first time to meet Harper. Friday night we went to Babe's for dinner. We needed to introduce Cos to this yummy all you can eat Fried Chicken restaurant. Harper did OK at dinner. We met at 5:15 so it was early enough that I could still get her to bed at a reasonable time. Anxiously waiting for her chicken and veggies!Harper kept trying to feed Cos her chicken!
After dinner, the guys went to watch a High School football playoff game. On Saturday morning I worked an event for Team In Training so the guys kept Harper while I was gone. Saturday night we had several other couples over for dinner. Two more of Jeff's college roommates live in the metroplex. We all enjoyed catching up. Dave & Mandy live out near Weatherford and their little girl, Tatum, is almost 6 months old! It was so fun to meet her. Dave played baseball with Jeff at MBU and he also played the guitar and sang in our wedding.Tatum and Harper enjoyed playing together. It took Harper a few minutes to realize that she needed to share with Tatum.
"Look Tatum - this is how you make it make sounds!"
We put Harper to bed before we all ate. Tatum on the other hand was so happy - she stayed up with us late into the evening.

It was so fun to catch up with old friends. I'm sad that I didn't get any pics of the whole group.

I think I've mentioned before that Harper has a fascination with climbing into small spaces. I was in the kitchen doing dishes and I came around the corner to find her like this! She climbed into this position all by herself! She loves reading.
Why only read one book when you can read two?
She likes helping me clean by vacuuming. Today she decided that she would try to ride it. Love this sweet smile!

CMA's

Harper enjoyed watching the CMA's this week with Jeff & I. She loves playing with this fun microphone that she got from Pierce's birthday party.

Take me out to the ballgame

Last Sunday, I enjoyed a fun girls night out with my college roommates. Jeff kept Harper for the afternoon and evening. He had a baseball game up at Centennial to work / watch so Harper tagged along. This is probably just the first of many afternoons at the ballpark. Jeff's dad came along to visit with Miss Harper. Harper getting a lesson in Baseball from Grandad Sherman.
Enjoying the view from the press box.

A Few videos

I took a few videos this weekend of Harper at my parents house. I just took these with my little digital camera so they aren't the best quality but you get the picture. Here she is practicing her assisted walking.

Still practicing...

She also enjoyed climbing the stairs.

We have a piano at home and Harper enjoys banging on it every once in a while. My mom had her on her lap and all of a sudden she discovered that she could play with her feet. So funny and loud.

Weekend in Paris

This was Jeff's last weekend of Football so we knew that he would be tied up. Harper and I headed to Paris for a little R&R. Papa, Mimi & Aunt Carol gave mommy a little break by helping out with Harper. Enjoy the pics...Trying V8 Fusion juice for the first time. I've had several mom's recommend it to me because it's 100% juice and a serving of fruit and veggies. Harper LOVED it! She sucked down the entire cup in no time.
Enjoying some time with Papa reading in their pajamas.
Enjoying the gorgeous weather outside with Mimi and the dogs.
Not so sure what to think of Chrissy all up in her space.
Harper was fascinated by the swimming pool. She really wanted to get in.
"Come on Mimi - let me just put my foot in!"
Walking with Mimi (still holding on.)
Grandma Jane (Harper's Great Great Grandmother) has a walker that she calls her "trusty steed" Harper enjoyed getting a ride on the "trusty steed" down the drive way!
Grandma Jane has a whistle that she wears when she is out walking in case she needs to get my mom's attention. Harper had fun trying to blow it.
Walking down the stairs with the help of Aunt Carol.
This was right before Harper fell over backward and hit her head on the TV cabinet.
Harper went shopping with Carol & I.
We had a great time in Paris.

Fall Festival

On Halloween, our church held a huge Fall Festival. I heard that over 20,000 people attended. It was like a mini state fair set up in the parking lot of Prestonwood. Our Bible Fellowship class worked one of the games called Bucket Bonanza. Before it started, Harper tried out our game.

Our shift was two hours long so Jeff and I took turns walking around with Harper to keep her occupied. We left the festival by 7 and Harper was in bed by 7:30. Jeff fell asleep on the by 8 on the couch so I headed to the grocery store. Halloween has changed!!
