Destin or Bust

The day after baseball camp ended we packed up the car and headed to our happy place.  Destin, Florida was our home away from home for two glorious weeks. We stayed in the same beach front house that we stayed in last year and it was fabulous. The drive is terrible but it's always worth it in the end. 

On Friday night, we stopped in Tyler to visit my childhood friend, Jessica and her family.  

We spent the night somewhere in the middle of Mississippi and then made the second half of the drive on Saturday.  We made it to the beach in time to enjoy the afternoon and evening in the water!

They were so excited to be there they just ran straight into the water...clothes and all.

Summer Camps

Harper attended her first ever sleep away camp with her church friends.  The 1st & 2nd graders got to go to a mini camp version which was one night away.  They packed a lot into that 24 hours and she had a blast!

The boys and I enjoyed free slurpees on 7/11.  

And Free Chick Fila on Cow Appreciation Day.  Walker had it for breakfast and for lunch!

When Harper came back from camp she helped me run the concession stands at baseball camp.  

Brody enjoyed having his buddy, Owen, at camp with him for the week.  

Coaches Outreach Degray Lake

Each summer we look forward to our weekend away at the Coaches Outreach marriage retreat.  This year we drove over to Degray Lake near Hot Springs.  The resort is beautiful and right on the lake.  We enjoy such a sweet time of fellowship with other coaching couples as well.

We started a Coaches Wives ministry this past year and I was thrilled that so many of my ladies were able to come to the retreat with their spouses.

4th of July in Paris

Carol and Asher flew up for the 4th of July weekend.  We got to pick them up at the airport and then our crazy train headed on up to Paris.

Aunt Rebekah and Rex got to come hang out for the weekend as well.

Love my sisters and thankful for a whole weekend with them.

The whole family at the Paris fireworks show.  Love this tradition of the municipal band concert, the hometown crowds, and the fireworks show in my old high school stadium.  

Hurricane Harbor with Friends

With our Six Flags season passes we have access to the Hurricane Harbor water park. We loved going this summer with our friends.  The kids got brave and tried most all of the rides at least once.
