New Orleans Getaway

Jeff and I slipped away for a few days to New Orleans while Papa and Mimi kept the kids.

We took an early flight out on Saturday morning so we could get there and start our sightseeing. It was chilly all weekend but sunny and nice to be outside.

We stayed in the French Quarter so we were close to everything that we wanted to see.

This one can't ever really take a vacation from his phone....

We met Jeff's Uncle Ron for lunch at one of the oldest restaurants in the US.

Our view of the river from our room.

We really enjoyed our time away and our uninterrupted conversations at meal times.

We had to make a stop at Cafe Du Monde for their famous Beignets.
On Sunday we rode the St. Charles street car all the way out to Tulane University and Loyola. We walked around the campuses and the beautiful parks across the street.
The Christmas decorations were all out and they were beautiful.
Monday we had reservations for brunch at the Court of Two Sisters.  It was maybe my favorite brunch ever. They had a little bit of everything and it was all amazing.  We enjoyed live music in the courtyard during the meal.
My favorite thing was wandering through the streets and stumbling upon live music around every corner.

While we were out of town the little people were all at Papa & Mimi's house.  I don't think that they missed us one bit.

MCA Turkey Trot

Right before Thanksgiving break the kids had a Turkey Trot at school. Daddy made their shirts for them.  I had no idea that he was so artistic.  The temps dropped that day and it was so cold and windy.  Kids still had fun running though.

November Recap

Here's a little recap of November.
It finally got cold. Harper and I survived a 4 mile very cold Saturday morning bike ride.  I think she has 4 layers on.
Moms Inc feature day had a fun photo booth!

Jeff has his baseball team do a service project each month.  We tagged along for the KLTY toy drive.

Walker's school had their Fall Festival.

It warmed up again so we enjoyed more cul de sac play time.

Stuffing Operation Christmas Child boxes at church.

Big kids had their Thanksgiving feast at school.

Walker came home dressed like a turkey from preschool.

Sic Em Bears

I haven't been back to a Baylor Football game since they opened the new stadium on campus.  Jeff and I slipped down to Waco without any kids in tow.  We of course had to make a stop at Magnolia, Spice Village and lunch at Schmaltz's.
Ran into my friends Lindsay and Ashley!  So Fun to catch up with them.
Baylor didn't play well but the game was still fun.

Feed The Hunger

Friday night we helped pack over 32,880 meals for the Feed The Hunger event in just 2 hours.  These meals will be sent all over the world to people in need.  This weekend the goal is to pack 250,000 meals. Was neat for my family to pay a small role in this.

Halloween Weekend

Halloween always sneaks up on me.
Jeff helped the kids carve pumpkins.

We went to the Fall Festival at our church.

Papa & Mimi came over also to join in on the fun.

We went trick or treating in our neighborhood with Granddad Sherman.

Their loot.
