Beachin It!

We had so much fun staying right on the beach this year.  Was a nice change from what we have done in year's past.  We could easily go back out to the beach after dinner for play time including baseball games!

When you are on vacation I love how we loose track of the days.

Ryan and Brody decided to build a hole to China.

Friends at the Beach

We settled in pretty quickly to our beach routine for the next 7 days.  Eat breakfast on the porch overlooking the ocean, head to the beach, play, play, play,  lunch on the porch, back to the beach, play, play, play, crash at night because they played so hard.  I love our beach days.  Such a sweet time for our family to play and enjoy being together.

More fun with our boat

Mimi & Walker

This year, we had another family join us at the beach.  Our Flower Mound friends, The Hood's, stayed just down the road from us. They had their grandparents with them also.  They beached it with us on our beach each morning.

The kids loved playing together! Harper was thrilled to have 3 other girls around.

Harper was feeding the sea gulls her snacks.  I was taking this picture and a bird pooped right on my arm.  Gross!

My cousin, Ryan, came and joined us also.  He is from New York but goes to college in North Carolina. He did great with the kids!

First Day on the beach

The wonderful thing about breaking the drive up into 2 days was that we got to spend Saturday afternoon on the beach instead of still in the car driving!  The house that we stayed at came with lots of fun beach toys including this boat!

Finally - he loved the sand this year!

Our Happy Place!

Destin or Bust

We love our annual trip to Destin with my parents.   This is our 4th year to go and stay in the same little neighborhood.  This year we decided to break up the drive into two days.  One day is doable but somewhat of a beating!

Pit stop at the Mississippi River

We stopped in Hattiesburg for the night.  We arrived at our hotel early enough that the kids enjoyed swimming and burning off some of their energy.

The next day we stopped in Mobile to eat lunch with our friends the Crowders.

Exploring the restaurant with Papa

Our LEAST favorite part of the drive is the traffic to get over the Destin bridge.

We made it and it was still daylight to see the ocean!
