Grapevine Botanic Gardens

Brody went to Paris with my mom for a few days to kick off Spring Break.  So I just had the big and the little to entertain. Sunday afternoon we drove down to the Grapevine Botanic Gardens and let the kids run and play before heading to dinner.

We played at the park before heading to dinner.

Showdown on the Mound

Jeff helps host the Showdown on the Mound tournament the first weekend in March.  There were 6 games spread over 3 days. We had nice weather so we took the kids to a few of the games.

Brody likes to keep himself occupied in the batting cages during the games.

We went home after the 12:30 game and took naps and rested and then headed back to the field for the evening game.  Walker packed his own bag and was happy playing with his toys in the bleachers for a few minutes at least.

March Week 1

We enjoy having Mimi here during the week more now that it's baseball season.  She took the boys to the botanic gardens in Grapevine one morning so I could run errands by myself.
These two can be so sweet to each other when they want to be.

Wednesday after school we went to visit Jeff at the field and he was up in the pressbox getting ready for a game. Walker figured out how to work the PA microphone.  He was singing the fight song over the loud speakers and it was so funny.

Harper loves when she can have a friend over after school to play.  She and Sophie enjoyed snacking and swinging at the same time.

In Brody's preschool class, they have 2 class pets (stuffed dogs) Molly and Doogie. Ms. Becky set up a wedding for them and they got married. She used this lesson to teach the kids about manners and how to act at a wedding. Brody was so excited to get to dress up for the wedding.

Papa came to town for the Showdown on the Mound tournament.

Mom stayed home with the kids and Dad kept me company at the first game on Thursday night.

Bye Bye Aunt Beka

My youngest sister, Rebekah, is off on another one of her fun adventures.  This time it's a 6 month backpacking trip around the world by herself.  She is starting with a month in Greece volunteering with the Syrian Refugees.

Brody had his first tball practice last week.

The weather has been unusually warm.  We had a picnic lunch outside after church.

Happy Birthday Dylan!

Saturday we went to Dylan's birthday party at the fire station.  It was camo themed and the kids had a great time touring the fire station.

Girl's Lake Weekend

My friend Karyn has a family lake house out in Marble Falls.  Several new friends and I managed to arrange childcare for all 15 of our kids and slip away for a few nights.
We enjoyed quiet mornings sitting on the back deck overlooking the lake.

We ate at the famous Blue Bonnet Cafe for breakfast on Saturday morning.

Then we drove to Fredericksburg for shopping, more eating and wine tasting at a winery.

We ate dinner overlooking the lake and were actually able to finish a sentence because we didn't have any kids with us.

What a fun and refreshing weekend away with these ladies.
