While We Were Away

A little phone dump from the end of November.
Harper attended a birthday party for her sweet friend Mallori.  Her dad is the outdoor ed teacher at the middle school so he has lots of snakes and other creepy crawly things.

The three amigos.

That weekend Brody went to Paris to visit Papa & Mimi. Brody got to meet a reindeer and his picture ended up on the first page of the Paris News.

My parents kept the kids while Jeff and I were in Mexico. These are some of the pics that they sent us while we were gone.

Harper had her Thanksgiving Feast at school on Friday so Aunt Beka stood in for us.

Apparently, it was freezing while we were gone so they did lots of indoor activities.

Grannie Sherman came to visit and helped make gingerbread houses.

Mexico!

Jeff and I planned a little trip to Mexico for some R&R before baseball season starts. My parents graciously kept the kids for 5 days while we escaped!  We to the El Dorado Royal hotel in Riviera Maya which is where I went with my college friends last summer.  5 days of sleeping in, eating amazing food, taking naps on the beach, and enjoying conversations without being interrupted every 5 seconds by a child was heavenly!
We managed to get upgraded to First class on the flight to Cancun which was pretty awesome.

We were at the beach by noon.  While we were gone it was cold and rainy in Texas, but we had amazing weather - nice and warm (ok hot when you were laying in the sun).

Jeff's first meal - he decided to order the catch of the day which was an entire fish.

View from our balcony

It did rain a little while we were there but not too much.  Relaxing watching the storm roll through from my hammock on the balcony.

Jeff was more adventurous than I was in the food department. The food was all gourmet and excellent!
Lunch by the pool

Where we spent our days - napping on the beds on the beach.

We celebrated our anniversary a little early with a dinner on the beach.

We didn't want to leave and come back to reality.

These munchkins were all in our bed by 6:30 a.m. the morning after we arrived back home.  Back to reality.

Harper's District AAU Cross Country Meet

Harper participated in the District AAU Cross Country Meet in Denton with her team - Lake Cities XC.  Jeff and Brody were out of town so Grandad Sherman & Walker tagged along to cheer on our little runner.

Brrr it was chilly!
Pre race stretching with her buddy Jaden.

Warm Ups with the team

She pushed through the race - all the way to the end and did great!

We love Coach Emily!

Little Stinker!

Post race donuts!

We are so proud of Harper and all of the time and dedication that she has put into cross country this year!
