Pretty in Pink

Harper let me paint her toenails for the first time last week.  I can't believe that she sat still long enough for me to paint them.

Probably not the best choice to have the baby this close to the nail polish...

Happy Easter!

This was the first year for as long as I can remember that we were not in Paris at my parent's house for Easter.  We have several weekend trips planned there over the next few weeks for wedding festivities that we decided to stay at our house for the weekend.  It was relaxing but not the same as being "home" in Paris. Harper woke up to find a little Easter basked outside her room on Sunday morning.

Nice bed head!

Pretty excited when she realized that there were fruit snacks inside each egg!

My mom bought her this dress and it came with a matching dress for her baby doll. She loved dressing up baby in a "matchy" dress.

Whenever I bend down to take her picture she copies me and bends down also. So cute!

Before church.

After church we tried to snap a few more pics of the kids but they were a little tired by this point.  Brody couldn't even keep his head up.

Harper trying to get Brody to lift his head up.  He was done...

We enjoyed a beautiful Easter morning service at church and had a relaxing rest of the afternoon.

Harper's Cookie Cake

Jeff's dad came over yesterday to go to the egg hunt with us.  He brought Harper this big cookie cake. She was pretty excited about it to say the least.

I love Harper's face here.  She's saying "Brody don't even think about it."

And yes this cookie cake is completely gone in less than 24 hours! Don't worry Jeff and I helped her eat it all.

Easter Egg-stravanza in McKinney

This morning we headed over to the city wide McKinney Easter Egg-stravana. They advertised that they would have over 30,000 eggs!

My attempt at getting a pic of both kids before the egg hunt.  It was really windy so her hair was going everyone.

Brody is making daddy proud with this Easter egg windup.

They had a petting zoo and Harper got to brush the goat.

Not so sure of the chicken

They had 3 separate egg "hunts" divided by ages. This was the huge field for those 3 and under.

Waiting patiently for "go time".

Showing off her loot

Granddad showing her that each egg had candy in it.  This might have caused a meltdown because over half of the eggs had bubblegum in them and she is a little young for that!

Happy Easter everyone.

Green Thumb?

Harper attended the birthday party of a little friend this week. The party favors were these little flower kits complete with bucket, shovel, dirt, sunflower seeds, and a watering can. Harper was pretty excited when she got everything - she told me it was her birthday. When she got home she wanted to "play with the flowers."

Checking out the dirt.

Patiently trying to figure out how to use the shovel to get dirt in bucket.

"Forget the shovel - I'll just dump it in"

Watering (drowning) the poor seeds

Then she wanted to dig them back up.

Everyday we have to go check on them to see if they have grown.

Swingin Buddies

We enjoyed some time at the park yesterday. Brody & Brynlee didn't want to miss out on the action.

Brynlee is just 10 days older than Brody.

To Papa & Mimi's we go

We headed up to Paris for the weekend so Harper and Brody could get a little lovin from Papa & Mimi! Harper loves following Mimi around and does whatever she is doing.  Saturday morning she helped make scrambled eggs. She wasn't so sure about her slimy fingers.

"Papa - I'm ready - feed me!"

Trying to use Sophie as a bribe to move / crawl.

Papa took Harper to her first movie at the theater.  They saw the animated movie Rio and didn't realize that it was 3D until they got there.  Dad said she wore the glasses only about 10% of the entire movie.

I was shocked that they made it through the whole thing.

Excited to show me her ticket.
