Homemade Snow Cones
My mom has an ice shaver that you can use to make homemade snowcones. Aunt Carol and Harper played outside and got really hot so a apple juice snowcone was the perfect treat!

Putt Putt and our cabin
When we were out at our cabin this week we tried to teach Harper how to play putt putt. It was her first experience and she did ok...for the first hole.

Proud of herself for making it into the hole.

Small meltdown on hole number 2

"Don't even think about making me do something that I don't want to do! I will have a meltdown right here on the golf course!"

The rest of the time she refused to hold her club and just wanted to pick the balls out of the hole after we hit them in.

Jeff having his morning coffee and supervising.

Harper checking out this friendly squirrel.

One little monkey jumping on the bed!

Trip to the Zoo
Jeff has been off this week so we planned a last minute getaway to Lake Palestine in East Texas. We stayed in a rustic cabin in the woods and had a nice change of scenery. Unfortunately it rained most of the time that we were there but we managed to still fit in a trip to the Tyler Zoo. I remember going to the Tyler Zoo when we were younger and I was very impressed.

The stroller didn't last very long. She quickly wanted "out" so she could get up close and personal with the animals.

Juice break in front of the anteaters.

Daddy pushed the stroller while Harper walked the rest of the way.

Checking out the birds.

Love those sweet curls!

"Come on mom - let's go look at more animals!"

In front of the zebras.

Checking out the elephants

Short meltdown in front of the flamingos

"Here fishy fishy!"

Harper loves to say most of the animals names but for monkey she beats her chest and says "oh oh oh". It's so cute!

Reading all about the Tortoise with daddy.

Up close with the cheetah

Brave girl looking at the cheetah all by her self.

"Mom - can that snake get me? It looks pretty close?"

Overall we had a great time at the zoo. Harper really enjoyed seeing all of the animals.

Coloring
I've tried to get Harper to color with crayons but she really only wants to eat them! I found this little art kit today that has "Color Wonder" markers. They are great because they only mark on the special paper that came with the markers.

She was more concerned with putting the lids on and off the markers.

I think she will eventually get the hang of it.
